Beautiful English countryside village that is well worth a visit.

We’ve visited a number of times, the country park itself offers stunning rolling landscapes, a cafe with ample indoor and outdoor seating, a host of arts and crafts shops, where you can watch skilled crafts people create prior to buying their goods. We came away with a stunning glass bowl for a very reasonable price.

The cafe offers numerous options, most of which are available in gluten free and as a vegetarian I had ample choices.

If you want to bring your dogs along, they’re welcome too, there’s plenty of space to let them run free and lots of water stations for their needs. The cafe also caters for our four legged family members, after all, why should they miss out whilst we munch on a cream tea.

Cockington Village, I got to via the water meadows walk. Beautiful. Bus stop livermead hotel walk up Cockington Lane. At the bus stop for no 62, from Torquay, there's a gate to walking the meadows. Dog walking friendly and loved the village. Visitor centre was not open no notice saying why.

It's hard to believe but just a few minutes walk from the centre there is a village where time stopped. Many of the cottages dating back to the 16th Century. Cockington Country Park it's a 450 acres of garden landscapes, open parkland, rural countryside and large woodland with three pretty lakes an historic Manor House with craft centre and studios and a quaint 11th Century church. Park has five walking routes that vary in distance. The whole estate and surrounding area is dog friendly. Dog friendly is also ice cream parlour located in a historic and beautifully restored mill.

WOW what a beautiful little village. We have visited here a couple of times over years and I would definitely recommend visiting at least once. Beautiful grounds to walk around, beautiful surroundings, stunning thatched houses/cottages. Plenty of walks and plenty to see and places to eat and drink. Pay and display carpark and a tourist information centre and lots of local/private businesses from glass blowing, metal/fabrication making to fancy lights/light bulbs, art shops, pet shop etc. Gardens to walk round and a big beautiful pub which was fantastic with friendly staff and tasty food. A small village but so much to do and see. Definitely recommend

Busy but beautiful. Cafe in Cockington Court isn’t cheap but worth it for the surroundings. The little church is enchanting and well worth a visit. Plenty of parking available and the craft area is worth a visit too.
