Friendly cafe and charity shop set in a beautiful old building and well maintained gardens. Lovely sitting outside with a coffee and cake. Amazing views too.

Wonderful experience. This former grammar school later became the Yorkshire Mining Museum but was later stolen out of Yorkshire by the Government boundary changes. The Museum relocated and the building found a new life as a charity fundraising establishment. It is very successful in its new role and a wonderful experience. We were taken there by a friend and will certainly be returning. The food looks so tempting and we had a savory tart, onion potatoe and cheese followed by carrot cake which was massive and must be the best I have ever had.
Upstairs in the historic building is the charity shop. It could be a mini Harrods. They even have a section of goods that are not for sale over the counter but for viewing with purchases made online like ebay.
