We stayed at Berwick Cottage which was a perfect base for touring Norfolk and Suffolk. The cottage was perfect! Every facility required for a disabled traveler and their family/carers - set in a friendly quiet village which had everything you need on a self-catering holiday.
The half day boat trip was breathtaking. Our skipper Susan was welcoming and friendly. She was knowledgeable about the history of the broads. The boat was fully accessible and even had hot drink facilities. We even got to drive the boat which was a personal highlight.
We’ve already booked for next year!

Great place. The opportunity that the trust gives for disabled and disadvantaged people to experience the boards is fantastic. We had a lovely day out on a boat trip.

My sister arranged for a boat trip for our father and family. He is bed bound and to get out needs a specialist chair. He has been around boats all his life so this is all he talks about.

The Nancy Oldfield Trust has some specialist motor boats with electric ramps and key headings that allow a chair to be wheeled right onto the ramp and down into the boat, which is flat inside.

My father and our family were on the water together for the first time in several years. There were two volunteers on the boat who made the whole experience very pleasant for all of us. Their electric cruiser was very quiet and they were very flexible about where we went. We happen to be the ex owners of one of their Yeoman sailing boats and we did a couple of turns to look at her.

This organisation does some very special work, and it is hard to express how much this trip was appreciated by us all. I have not posted photos as my father cannot consent. The scenery, river and Barton Broad were all beautiful. Please consider this if you are not able to access the Broads due to a disability.

A huge thanks you to the volunteers who run this organisation.

Wow wow wow, this is an amazing trust, they really go all out to help people with disabilities ? I spent a week with Headway Suffolk the charity that helps me out so much. The accommodation is brilliant, provides what is needed, has enough space for 10 people and every bedroom has a wet room. A washing machine and dryer. A cooker and induction hob. The induction hob and sink have a winch to lower or higher for needs. Fresh bedding and towels. Wheelchair accessible. Pots and pans, trays for oven, cutlery and utensils, mugs and glasses, a dishwasher, washing up liquid is there waiting for you, antibacterial pump bottles, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and softener, a hoover, mop, dustpan and brush. Anything else needed I couldn't think of, other than bring food with you but totally understandable. Smart TV and free WiFi in the lounge with 4 sofas and two chairs. A kettle with complimentary teas, coffee and sugar sachets. The staff, volunteers are lovely and the manager is so lovely.
You can go out on the cruise boat and have a try driving it, go on a joined canoe or try sailing. There is so much not that far to go and explore. I recommend this place to anyone. 5 stars just isn't enough

This is an absolutely amazing place set in wonderful surroundings. They have a large team of very friendly, helpful volunteers and nothing is too much trouble for them, going to great lengths to ensure you enjoy your stay. So much enthusiasm and encouragement to enable trying new activities too. The accommodation is spotless, with plenty of room, equipped with everything you need. Thank you to you all for making our stay such fun. ?
