There used to be child abuse occuring over here, and we couldn't prosecute the Imam as there was lack of evidence and innocent children did not want open up. The same Imam also did fraudulent activities as he would take more money from the mosque's profit, and also then at the end has run away with almost £4,000. He was never been seen again, from any of the mosque members. The Madrasah environment has since been improved, but the threating acts from the recent Imam hasn't, as children felt threatened and forced to read the Qu'ran or either for misbehaving. As on many cases, children would be given these threating attitudes from the Imam to change their thinking and to make them frightened towards the Imam, as this would encourage the children to forcefully do things they did not want to do, this could lead to any actions. These are very important matters, but if you as a parent want your child to learn how to read the Qu'ran and that this the ONLY mosque they can go to then I would recommend you to accompany your child for the full 2 hours. Hopefully, I do help someone and their children's future.
