Awful organisation. Milk government for funds, simply don't deliver. Tried them on three separate occasions, giving them the benefit of the doubt, failed all three times. Can't be a coincidence. Where does the money go? Supposed to give vulnerable a voice. I have lost my voice trying to get Onside to listen. They have a bank of one volunteer it seems. Nice chap but that's where it ends. Never gets back to you, misses appointments. No advocacy taken place yet in almost a year. Time to call it a day Onside? Or pass the baton to another organisation?

Very frustrating experience I would not recommend based on my experience. Initially I contacted this charity on the recommendation of social services who palm their responsibility (mandatory) off onto these & probably pay them for it.
I contacted this agency some time ago as I felt I wasn't being supported by my gp in regards to a medical condition I suffer due to two critical illnesses. They took a very long time to get back to me months eventually I was told someone would be in contact. Eventually I had a call off a gentleman (who rang my emergency number - my 76 year old mother) several times until he got through to me.
He was a nice enough person (elderly retired) who came around & took details but has been extremely slow to communicate sometimes telling me he would call me then not for weeks on end I have given up with them now it's ridiculous tbh. I'm grateful for the service but please have people able to do the role

I have been going to the Tuesday group, once a week, since Jan 2015. I have enjoyed every minute of it! Mrs. Sarah Humphries and Ms. Alison run the program and these ladies do everything they can to help people with problems, understanding life, and with their teachings and leadership do an outstanding job in helping people help themselves! I hope the government can find the funds to keep these projects going and maybe include intermediate and advanced lessons to help people who have gone through the basic 12 week programme. In my opinion, the taxpayer contributes all kinds of money to the NHS to help services for all kinds of health, which mental health just seems to get skipped or is not focus with patients who have problems where these groups can help people more and save money as well. The only thing I see needs improving is the communication between GP's and the onside services so all can help the patients more. In fact these sessions are more personalised and the group ends up helping themselves through the guidance and leadership of these lovely ladies who care so very much! Let’s keep it going so the public can keep going in the right direction for the foreseen future. Thank you very much.
