We recently hosted our Goldmine Business Event at Mid Sussex Golf Club and we can’t thank Lee, Mike, Emre and the whole team enough. The venue itself is incredible with stunning views across the course from the breakfast room we were setup in. The team were friendly and attentive and had all tables and refreshments set up for us prior to our arrival (which was early!). The space works well for any type of event and the lunch was absolutely delicious with a selection of chicken and vegetable curry, popadoms and chutney and they can cater for all dietary requirements. There were many compliments to the chef! We will definitely be back for our next event in a couple of months. Highly recommend for venue hire, or even for a spot of lunch - you’ll be well looked after!

I was recently involved in organising a dinner for 68 for the Lewes constituency Liberal Democrats and we were very pleased indeed with the Mid Sussex Golf Club restaurant as a venue. It's a light room with all one side glazed, giving a lovely green view with the South Downs beyond. In good weather you can have the doors open for drinks on the terrace. The events team were friendly and responsive to our requirements, including very quietly serving the dessert and coffee during the speeches so that the guest speaker could get away for her train. Mike the Sales and Marketing Manager stayed late specially to help out. The food was remarkably good and we understand it was all prepared by one chef - special congratulations to them. Highly recommended as one of the few places in the area that can host a big dinner so professionally.

An impromptu visit to the bar as a guest, nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and welcoming as were the members. Fair selection of drinks and I ended up having a delicious dinner and dessert (without doubt the best brownie ever!!). Lovely chilled vibe, worth a visit just for the brownie.

Played here yesterday at the base insurance golf day. After what looked like it was going to be a wash out. We still managed to get onto the course. The greens drained away perfectly and within minutes of the rain stopping. Bunkers are getting drainage too and the ones that had drainage had no water in them. Couldn’t honestly fault the course after that weather. Food was also on point. Can’t wait to get back on the course. Especially as I don’t play golf much, I’ve got the buzz to play more.

I've been a member for several years now and this course just keeps on giving. Across the board, the ground staff, golf Pro's, restaurant and half-way hut staff are all so friendly and professional.

I played the course for the first time today.

Pros: the course is in great condition and I had a lovely round. There were a couple of bits under repair, such as the first hole, but otherwise it was immaculate. The facilities seemed well maintained, although I didn’t utilise them beyond the basics to get on the course and use the loo.

Cons: the biggest issue was the lack of signage on your way around the course. In fact, there’s not even any signage to the first hole, which is fine if you’ve been there before, but not if you’re a first timer - this issue persisted throughout the round.

My other issue was the course layout. There were 2/3 longer par 4s that I think many normal golfers will struggle to get to in 2, and then many much shorter one that required a 60 yardish pitch in off the drive. It seemed like a strange layout, basically.

The middling bits: I’m not sure if this is a positive or a negative, but it’s not a visually appealing course to play, and there’s no highlight holes. It’s also much easier than many of the other local clubs - if you can use a driver to a half decent standard, you’ll be breaking 90 around here consistently.

Overall, a lovely place to play golf, and I’d definitely go back.

We (PMR Architecture) have just hosted our inaugural Charity Golf Day at Mid Sussex - shame it was in the middle of a storm! Despite this, their hospitality and support ensured the event went ahead as planned and seeing how the course survived and thrived during the heavy rain was incredible. Highly recommend for any upcoming event.
