This monumental bale of chicken-wire is, according to Atlas Obscura, the *only* roundabout in the world with its own laser. According to their report the "iconic laser shoots beams across the interior of the coil" - although I must confess I've never noticed it so perhaps it 's run out of batteries. The roundabout is always busy, and I assume that's because tourists flock from miles around to gaze at it in wonder and awe. I bet all the other towns wish they had one and are just insanely jealous.

I've noticed that the cars invariably circle it in a clockwise direction, almost certainly conveying some sort of mystic significance and ritualistic importance, and making it a place of pilgrimage or shrine for some mysterious East Anglian cult. If they go the wrong way round I bet the crops would fail or something. Some sort of disaster would inevitably befall them, of that I'm sure. Live sacrifices may or may not take place within its midst.

The sculpture's £100,000 cost was mainly paid by donations from local businesses, and supposedly "signals a fearless march into the future". With that sort of decision-making over their business spending, presumably a future heavily featuring bankruptcy.
