This is a most valuable community resource. It allows me, an old, beginner musician, to play with others. It is a pity that more areas don't have something like this. I travel from north Sheffield. I can't praise enough the enthusiasm and talent of those involved.

I went here for my music education from when I was 14 till I left for university, the amazing teachers and band leaders here always provide such a fun and supportive environment for everyone of all ages to come and learn instruments and enjoy music. Found some fantastic friends here and always pop back whenever I get the chance!

A fabulous place for musical tuition for groups add individuals alike. I attend Dr Pete's Salsa Band rehearsals weekly and the room and facilities are ideal.

I was taught saxophone by Sarah Baker of HD9 Community Music/Wind from the age of 11-18 and the tuition I received could not have been a better fit or pace for me. Sarah and all the other teachers work tirelessly to ensure every pupil receives teaching which not only fits their own standard and playing habits but also their end goals and their future. I’m going on to complete a BMus in music performance specialising in the saxophone at Birmingham Conservatoire and I wouldn’t have had the self-confidence or ability if it weren’t for the experience I had at HD9. Additionally, the ensembles and bands run by Sarah, Paul, Megan & Pete offer an amazing opportunity not only to showcase the skills of the school but to allow pupils to gain further performance and music skills. The relaxed environment in their starter bands allows anyone to feel comfortable and at home behind their instruments and the more senior bands offer a challenge to experienced and advanced players looking for additional ensemble skills, opportunities and feedback. I cannot recommend enough this amazing music school and everything it and the teachers here have done for me. Whether you’re a hobbyist looking for more in-depth lessons or you see yourself going places with music, HD9 will absolutely be able to help you achieve your dreams and be better than you ever thought you could.
