A great day out at the end of the summer. The Estate is very impressive - good car parking, then a fair old walk down to the house - very well presented and one was able to get up close to exhibits. Whilst at time of our visit there was restoration work underway that was cleverly incorporated into the tour - walking on the scaffolding high up in the long gallery. Fantastic gardens and even a church. Good choice of places to eat - yes a grand day out.

As soon as you arrive the striking buildings on the estate impress. Beautifully designed and with extensive and well maintained gardens this estate is a real gem. Easy parking and accessible facilities also. This is a large estate and you can plan to spend at least half a day here. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful estate with friendly and helpful staff. The kitchen is not to be missed. Preservation work is ongoing, however, this will give you the chance to see the intricate details of the ceiling. Parking is free if you are a member. Very picturesque and definitely highly recommended.

Love this place there's a lot of history to learn and beautiful flowers and landscape to look at. Been visited Lyhandrock three times already since we moved to Cornwall. Always good to visit this place?

Note it is about a 500 metre walk from the car park, mainly on a low decline towards the house. They do have transport for those that need it.

The house was redesigned after a fire, which means it had a top notch late Victorian kitchen. They also have the history of the family, as they seem to have quite a few kids.

What a beautiful place, not only did I do Parkrun there this morning I went back got the wife and spent all day there with dogs.
The house is stunning and all the Restoration work is amazing.
Wasn't able to see all the grounds but I'll do that next time.
But we did get afternoon tea and the scones are amazing yumyumyum.
Make sure you check car park payments payed for 3 hours so put a £5 in and was only giving 1hour on ticket so then had to pay a further£6 for all day ticket. Question it at till lady took my reg and said she'll sort out, what that meant I'm not sure, asked a second time was told she'll sort .
Apart from that a fantastic day.

Our recent visit to Lanhydrock House and Gardens was an absolute delight for the whole family. From the moment we stepped onto the sprawling estate, we were transported back in time to the Victorian era.
The house itself is a marvel of architecture and interior design, with each room telling a story of the Agar-Robartes family and their staff. We particularly enjoyed exploring the children's nursery, the bustling kitchen, and the grand Long Gallery, where a fascinating conservation project was underway. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the house, bringing the stories to life for both adults and children alike.
The gardens at Lanhydrock are equally impressive, with vibrant floral displays, tranquil woodland walks, and hidden corners to discover. The children loved running through the formal gardens and exploring the play areas dotted throughout the grounds. The cycle paths were a hit with the older kids, offering a fun and scenic way to explore the wider estate.
The facilities at Lanhydrock are excellent, with two cafes serving delicious food and drinks, plenty of picnic spots, and well-maintained toilets. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making our visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, Lanhydrock House and Gardens is a fantastic day out for families, offering a unique blend of history, nature, and fun activities. We highly recommend a visit to this Victorian gem!

We stopped off here on our journey back home from a holiday near Looe.

There is so much here to see and do. I like how they've separated out the main property and garden/walks. There is a cafe , play area and gift/plant shop located near the carpark. Unless you are a National trust member, you pay for parking then can go on a walk or use the above facilities.

Once you pass the garden cafe you head to a smaller building to purchase your tickets for the house and gardens.

We had a dig with us, so we decided to go on a walk around the forest grounds first before enjoying a refreshment at the stables cafe and then entering the house.

There's plenty for young children to explore and experience in the house. I was lucky to visit whilst renovation's/ cleaning of the ceiling was happening. I was able to get up close to the carvings. Really interesting and intriguing.

Definitely recommend a day out here. So much to see and do in all weathers.
