This service is terrible because it is ridiculously understaffed and underfunded.
The medical secretaries are as helpful as they can be and are approachable & friendly but they just aren't given what they need to do a good job and ensure proper care for their patients.
In the 2 & 1/2 years I've been with them, having transferred from another CMHT, I've had to fight to see/speak to a doctor every time with multiple chases being made, even when the doctors know I'm at rock bottom and verging on suicidal.
Dr. Gopal does his best but he hasn't got enough people for the number of patients.
Doctor turnover is in competition with Aldi checkouts for speed, which means you see them (if you're lucky enough to get a face to face appointment, which are rarer than hen's teeth) once, maybe twice, before being handed to someone else.
It's about time our NHS was funded properly, especially mental health services. #ToriesOut #BrokenBritain

They caused me to actually have an serotonin overdose because they didn't check my dosage of meds properly and upped my dosage of venlafaxine while I was on atomoxetine and mirtazapine at the same time. I had a breakdown, jitters and acting very unhinged, lost family members after breakdown and being left to deal with it on my own for a long while because they didn't keep on eye on me and when your an outpatient, they only catch up with you every few months.. they don't provide enough follow up and a closer eye on you to see what is and isnt working... you have to repeatedly chase them while struggling to get any help at all. I don't think I will ever get well enough under this service. I am made to do video calls to provide updates and video calls cause me a lot of anxiety because I don't feel comfortable doing them so I don't speak as much about my needs because the video calls make me feel overwhelmed too much to think properly. You don't get much in person help here. It is all mostly "contactless"

The mental health team say they will help you and then don't , give you a cpn and then take away with the other hand and they leave it to my husband to help me when it is bad and he is not a trained cpn or a Dr , it is ridiculous at times to get them to help ,say ring duty worker who is changed to another person every day

If I could give this place less then I would. Do not trust these people. They are also extremely inept and lack professionalism.
