Decided to make an effort and write a proper review of this brilliant surgery to say THANK YOU and share my positive experience with this practice.

I hear (especially after Covid), some awful things from friends about not being able to get appointments & bad service with other doctors. I'm grateful that this surgery are so caring about their patients.

I've been a patient for 8/9 years. Not in often (luckily) but there have been a fair amount of routine things plus some health issues that have made me seek advice and needed referral to the hospital, sometimes pretty urgently and some very odd (covid nails & lung inflammation after covid!). They get you in as quickly as possible with a nurse or doc or will arrange out of hours telephone appointments if necessary. It is rare you have to wait a long time, sometimes they offer a same day slot.

The reception staff are lovely, the nurses and doctors professional, cheerful & I have found actually LISTEN, share useful information, take action, with complete patient choice over the direction to take going forward. I have fed a couple of complaints/suggestions through during my time as a patient one for the surgery and one regarding wider NHS correspondence and these were taken on board, - the practice manager phoned to chat (a number of years back).

Today I attended, having not been for a very long time, rather embarrassed but desperate with an A4 page of things impacting greatly on my daily life - I didn't know whether they were connected or not. The GP was so kind and thorough. We have an action plan going forward with potentially 3 problems going on simultaneously. Am so grateful. Nearly didn't go because the symptoms keep changing & I felt like I wouldn't be taken seriously. Should have known better and not waited so long - as this surgery really do care.

On Saturday a lady called Alison from the medical centre leant me her booster seat ❤️
I had travelled to Bolsover from Yorkshire to meet my daughter from Nottingham and take my grandson for the weekend as her husband had a near fatal cardiac arrest. In the stressful exchange we forgot the child booster seat. I was parked across from the medical centre and walked over in desperation. Alison was the first person I spoke to and handed her car seat to me, a stranger in need!
Not all angels wear wings ❤️

Dont bother going on time you can be an hour late and still be early. Most useless Drs ever and it usually takes weeks to make them do anything as i have experienced receiving my medication witch has been up to months late

Never had a problem with getting to see a doctor. Staff so helpful can't fault them. Only problem i have is when you ring up you have hear all what the message says and usually by time you get through to the surgery appointments usually gone.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank a very special member of your team, who not only helped me resolve an issue with a repeat prescription, but also arranged a referral for an ENT appointment at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This was all done in the same day I visited in the morning, and goes above and beyond providing patient help…it shows beyond any shadow of a doubt they well and truly do care!
Outstanding and highly valued.
Thank you.
Kevin.

This morning my husband called for an appointment., The receptionist, who is obviously a qualified doctor ask why he wanted a consultation. On hearing what he told her, she told him he couldn’t see a doctor, he needed Physio. He said no he needed to see a doctor. After a small discussion with the said qualified receptionist she gave him an appointment for two days time. Now my husband is a workman that actually has a job to go to. He’d already been off work for almost a week.
I took it upon myself to message the doctors, a strong worded message. Within 30 minutes he received a call saying that he had an appointment for later this morning.
Why could the receptionist not have given him the appointment when he called earlier.
The doctors are great, when you are allowed to see them.
It’s about time the receptionists either get doctor qualifications or shut up and make appointments when asked.
Btw my husband didn’t need a physiotherapist.

Useless doctors! Receptionist is damn right rude and very unhelpful and needs some customer service training . My partner has been trying for an appointment for days to be told at 8 all the appointments have gone, but when you come in to book an appointment there’s nobody in the waiting room !
