I can only share positive words for this review. I was dreading having to send my comparatively young wife to a care Home and I therefore made provisions at home for her care however, things don't always turn out the way we plan. My wife had a very rare and complex Parkinsonism and after a catastrophic fall and a two month spell in hospital it was clear she required palliative care going forward. We managed to get her into the Knebworth Care Home which was walkable from where we live. The staff had the expertise and numerous pieces of equipment to enable my wife to shower whenever she wanted and to be out of bed and in some sort of mobile chair pretty well every day until close to the end. The carers and nursing staff handled her with the greatest of compassion and she was always clean, her beautiful hair was always brushed and at no time did she complain of being uncomfortable. I spent two and a half months at her bedside having already spent two months with her in the hospital. She wasn't able to swallow normal food and so was on a purified diet. As I was with her most of the time, I did eat there many times. There was no charge, even when my sons came up for a couple of Sunday lunches. It's impossible to cater for 50 individual meals so it's always difficult to please all the people all the time, but my experience of sometimes seven meals a week was that the standard of food on the whole was excellent and full of taste.

The palliative care team on Maple were amazing, too many names to mention. The general ambience of the home was friendly and inviting and moving my wife there for the last couple of months was the best thing I ever did for her. Thank you to the Knebworth Care Home for allaying all me fears.

My father has recently moved here as a full time resident after a short spell on respite care. It was a difficult but essential decision for us. The staff here are a step above staff in other homes we have used for respite. They really care, they smile and they make those extra little efforts you would hope for your loved one. The food is lovely and accommodating and they make a subtle and caring effort to engage their elderly residents in activities. My father has a few medical needs and the staff in the home are proactive in making sure his changing needs are assessed and managed appropriately. A great place. Thank you x

I have tried to call my Aunt 3 times this evening - just to ask for her personal phone number. Staff were unable to help in any way, transferring me from floor to floor - good job it was not an emergency. I will try again when the day staff are at work.

Terrible experience over 18 months. Mother been involved in proven case of neglect. Large turnover of staff. Extremely poorly run . No leadership whatsoever. Uncaring and disorganised. Moving my mother elsewhere. Ad at 14 Aug 2016.

Awesome place love the staff and the night staff are really great at what they do. I have never had any problems or concerns about my dad being there and he loves it there too. Wonderful place.
