I'm giving one star as trying to figure out why this Organisation exists. Went through a lot of information regarding my situation, but throughout the tone was 'there is nothing you can do'. I came away thinking what a complete waste of time. Not suggesting for a minute that I contacted them expecting them to wave a magic wand (that would be naive and deluded), but what is the point of calling them if all you're going to get is, there is nothing you can do? And the person repeated a lot of things that were so similar to what social services would say, which was odd. Safe to say that I won't be using them again.

The lady on the phone seemed empathetic about the situation and was kind. She gave me a few links for help but I felt that the organization's name seems to offer more than what they actually can offer.
My stars are purely for the lady doing her work and not for the organisation.

Excellent organisation that helped our family enormously when we needed help to access support for our son. Very understanding, knowledgeable and empathetic. The legal advice that was offered worked. They helped us access a support package at the time that I am fairly sure we would not have received had we not spoken to FRG.

A very professional and person centred approach. Clear, focused and up to date advice offered. A strong sense of active listening ; especially when you really need to be heard.

I got in touch with FRG in 2012 to ask advice, I was asked a few questions that were relevant to what advice I needed and have since joined the parents panel. FRG have empowered me and given me some fantastic opportunities to get my voice heard as somebody who has faced the system as a child in care and again as a parent. FRG advises families from England and Wales, with this in mind it is no wonder they are unable to answer every call or email. I hope they receive more donations so that they can help more people in the future. I feel some of the reviews are extremely unfair considering this advice is free from professionals, you will never get bad advice. I would never go to facebook for advice given that the wrong advice could impact on parents in court. For me I cannot thank FRG enough for all they have done and continue to do on a daily basis.

The Family Rights Groups is a breath of fresh air when it come to honest and hard hitting advice. I have been through the family courts, dealt with a variety of services and only recently did I come across this group.

I called to ask a number of questions and their advice was solid, honest and balanced in fact I found they advised more than my previous barristers! which cost me a arm and leg.

They give advice even if it is generically given, but ive found using some of this advice in my proceedings and meetings have helped massively.

by the way, I'm a dad who has fought and still fights tooth and nail for his kids to ensure they have their parents in their lives, if your like me give them a call you will not go wrong.

Thank you to the staff at FRG keep doing what your doing, its invaluable to us parents out their within this system
cheers
Steve

Fantastic charity. I am a kinship carer and was invited to join their panel to have my views as a carer heard. It has been a great opportunity to get my voice heard. They have also published a survey last week which heard the views of 845 kinship carers. Fantastic work.

The FRA helped me gave me great advice that I was able to execute, others may struggle hence 4 stars. The access to produce letters complaints and arrange meetings also keep track there is vunable families out there. Th FRA helped alot, after everything I was able to change certain outcomes . Unfortunately it cnt help with the abuse of power of social services (SS) put you through. The SS, cause more damage in certain situations but they do have a job to do, shame not met an decent SW.
But this group helps, your not alone and you can meet others to support assist you

Thank you Sandra
