I went in with my mum to pick books-she began to feel unwell .As we sat on one of the sofas upstairs -an assistant came over and asked us if we would like drinks .
She then wished us well as we left a bit later

It's nice to be noticed as a visitor!
I don't think you'd get this friendliness in a big city library!

Thanks! M

We love the children's library here. There is always lovely staff to help and there are always lots of activities for the children to join in with, like the summer reading challenge. It is also a good place to go to be sign posted to other places of interest to visit.

Went into the library to get help for a form on councils website, and I explained my predicament, and the women I was speaking to started to get defensive and became passive-aggressive with me, I explained to her that she should be professional and impartial and she stated that's she's trying to help by speaking to me like I was a child. I asked to speak to someone else, and she got up aggressively knocking her desk and stormed off to complain about me to her manager. I explained to the manager what attitude she was giving to me. In the end, I chose to leave and try at a later date when she's calmed down and willing to act professional again. Not all staff are like this. It was just this one woman who made my experience not good at all. She is also boasting that she's done psychology and that she knows best. Well, I've done psychology, but I don't boast about it.

Scunthorpe Central { Scunthorpe Library }. I went on friday 10 November to ask for some info. I went to the main desk as you walked in. The woman sitting there was very rude She told me to stand to one side as I was talking to her so she chatted to this man and woman who came in after me. I just walked out. Come on North Lincolnshire Council can you have people working for who know how to talk nice to people and not be so so Rude !!

Very noisy library even the top floor which is supposed to be the quiet zone. Most of the noise is created by staff especially the librarians. I tried to ask they keep it down and left a written feedback but to no avail. Staff do not recognize this as a library and behave as if they are in a shop or internet cafe. If you have serious work to accomplish this place will not be good for you. Also users of library are allowed to chat in a loud voice and use their mobile. This is not right and some one has to restore this place to be a true library. Staff need education and supervision.
