Great afternoon here with the family. The wife is born and bred here in Gainsborough and she didn't know half of what the town used to be.
So if you're new to the town like me, definitely check it out to see what it once was. You won't be disappointed.

Bring cash. Card machine doesn't always work. I think it was £4.50 per adult and the kids were free when I went.

A nice little place full of history and news about Gainsborough, especially the old Marshalls tractor factory and Roses packaging company. These two displays take up most of the ground floor and if you were to read and study all the information on display about them you'd need an hour or two. Upstairs - or via the lift - is a nice street scene with old post office, sweet shop and an old house with vintage furniture. On the top floor there's old newspapers to go through if you're looking for something in particular. Just be aware that the place isn't open very often, maybe twice a week so check their website.

Fantastic little place which tells the story of Gainsborough and the industry that developed in the town. Marshall's and Roses they have a brilliant reference library with the entire history of employment cards from Marshall's and loads of other reference materials. Very helpful volunteers in the research area too. Only £3 per adult and kids are free but if you are going to use the research area its worth buying a membership at only £15 per year. Also has a very well stocked little shop area with loads of book, cd's and dvds about the town.
