Cafe was a bit expensive, over £10 for a coffee, sandwich and small chocolate bar.

They try, but the NHS is woefully understaffed, so not always the quickest to see you. Many staff are rushed off their feet, and the bedside manner is sometimes missing.

Having only lived in Gloucester for a couple of years I can't speak for the entire hospital as I have only personally seen a small part of it.

I had my baby here in December 2006 and it was a fantastic experience. The midwives were amazing and they did everything in their power to ensure that we stuck to my birth plan. I ended up having a waterbirth in the delivery suite (sadly the birth unit was shut for Christmas!) and it was everything I had dreamed that it would be. The aftercare was excellent and the wards were relaxed and friendly.

I've also made three trips to the out of hours doctor, once for myself and once for each of my children. There's often a long wait, but the waiting room as fairly comfortable and there are plenty of toys for the little ones. It's certainly a lot better maintained than some of the hospitals I've been to.

Appointment at physio Dept. Able to park easily. Physio, Sam was on time and really helpful with suggestions for on going exercises. Recommend them.

Got sent there from lydney Hospital.
Spent 11 hrs sat in minors only to leave untreated, as they diverted their attention from my finger, losing sensation to ongoing chest pains that the doctor's are already looking at.
They left a patient led on the floor for 10 hrs, being sick every 15 minutes, saying she was attention seeking.
Absolute disgrace.

Have been here more than id prefer over the past couple of years, starting with the begining of the pandemic in which i came down with covid. The staff were so lovely and i even recall one of the nurses being overjoyed with me when i finally got discharged.

I am now going through various tests due to an unkown possible illness and everyone has been helpfull and have talled me through whats happened, what the next steps will be and exactly hpw long it should take, in most cases getting me back in sooner than id expected.

As for the A&E department, have only visited once amd yes, it is overcrowded, there is a backlog of people waoting to be seen, when i went the average waiting time was a few hours before youd be seen (depending on severity of issue of course) but somehow got through that in a mattor of an hohr despite our issue not being overly severe, theu are trying and it shows and i cant thank this hospital enough for all its done for myself and others.
