What a fantastic home, greeted at the door with a smile from the wonderful receptionist. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was friendly, warm and approachable. The residents were all sitting in the lounge area laughing and smiling with the care staff

2025 disgusted with care provided and given to my parent during the 3 weeks he was there, left laying in fecal matter, and 4hr before he recieved help during a stroke, HORRIFIED that in this day and age these things can happen to people who deserve at the end of their lives to safe, correctly cared for,

Still makes me angry the conditions of this home and their failure to provide my mum with dignity good food and good care. Please do not leave your parents here and don't believe their promises. The threats of staff your mum will be worse if you move her the staff insinuating you didn't visit enough to see the care they gave. Apparently only smelt the days I went in. The residents only left in lounge on their own the times I visited. They caused so much stress at an already terrible time dealing with loss of parent to dementia. I will never forgive myself for placing my mum in their care and not moving her more quickly as believed they would take action.

This is a fantastic care home, i am gobsmacked to see these bad reviews. My mum has lived at gildawood for 3 years and is very happy. She is given the best care by all the amazing staff there. I only visit every other week now as i dont worry about her. All the staff are obviously very good at their jobs and have great pride in the care they give. They are always friendly and the home is very clean. Would recommend this home for anyone's loved ones that need caring for.
