Amazing place! Went here with my college for the day to see there departments and have to say their fire and rescue team are the best out of them all.

It's amazing to see all their facilities and the RAF get tonnes of benefits for joining atm so would recommend joining if you want to stay in a hotel.

Spaghetti Bolognese was nice but they wouldn't let us have cheese or garlic bread do I was disappointed. Got to see the Chinooks and they were so cool. Dog handling team are amazing!

Had a special day created just for me back in 2016 with the charity Willow, was amazing getting to do 3 hookups of barrels underneath a chinook in flight, wearing offical RAF overalls and other stuff which i got to keep. lunch in the officers mess (silver service) speaking and hearing pilots in Radio Control. A chinook flight simulator l, I passed the first time and was told I was a born pilot, a PowerPoint presentation about the chinooks, platoons, and the history of the base. Private Van to drive us around in on base as it was huge. A rare sight of 4 chinooks taxiing off together, lots of goodies, even got to be on their 2016 chinook journal all about my kidney and health issues, being on dialysis. (Since then, I've had my second kidney transplant from a deceased donor on 18th September 2022.

And to make it the most special, a look around and inside a chinook that was being worked on, I sat I'm the cockpit and I named him Charlie. A picture I have framed of me standing a picture of me, dad, and 2 of the pilots, too.

This all couldn't have happened if it wasn't for Sargent Steven Palmer
