I purchased a large piece of furniture from this shop and could choose the delivery date (great!) It was delivered late morning, which was perfect as I wasn’t waiting in all day and the 2 delivery driver’s Dave and Paul were great! I was sweating thinking we wasn’t going to get it in, but was all uncomplicated!

Thank you Dave, Paul and St Clare’s

I visited the St Clare Hospice shop in Harlow on 8th September 2024 to donate some items, including a shoe rack that required the manager’s approval. Unfortunately, this was the second time I have encountered rudeness from this particular manager. While he declined the shoe rack, his attitude was dismissive and unnecessarily rude.

It's disheartening to be met with this kind of behavior, especially when donating to support a charity. If the manager or any employee does not enjoy their role, proper training on how to communicate with the public should be a priority. If he were my employee, I would have issued him a formal warning. Many people take the time to donate in good faith, and they should be treated with respect.

I hope the management addresses this issue, as a more welcoming and polite approach would greatly benefit the shop and its donors.

I visited the shop and had witnessed the most rude male staff member in my life. Absolute scum. How do you employ individuals like this, and as the ‘manager’ of the shop, should know better. I wouldn’t employ him in the worst environment possible, even if it was for mine and other people’s pleasure. Disgrace on you to keep him in a job when others could so so much better. Shame on you

I have cleared my house recently had toys, expensive clothes, furniture etc. I wanted the stuff to go to a nice home so turned up at the shop to be greeted by the most awful man his first words were 'if this is from a boot sale we don't want it' I said it's not it's from my house he stood glaring at me and then whispered to the lady working with him something. I left the first bag on the side. My eldest daughter had walked through with a bag of clothes he made her feel so uncomfortable we got back in the car and left. I will NEVER use this shop again nor buy anything from them I have now taken everything to a different charity shop who were super happy to have the donations!!! This was today Sunday the 11th.

Absolutely love this shop. The staff are absolutely lovely and you can have a really nice conversation with them. There's a fantastic selection of things to choose from. This isn't my local charity shop but I am more than happy to go the extra distance to have the great customer care this place offers. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
