We have enjoyed the Community garden during the children's summer clubs. I love the simplicity of it, a lovely green space where children can play in the sand or join in with a craft activity. Parents or carers can enjoy a cuppa and kids enjoy a snack, surrounded by lush, wholesome stuff growing around them! X

It has been a pleasure to see how the community garden has flourished over the years. So many benefits have been available to our community at the garden from therapeutic weeding (always plenty of that available!) to creating new growing spaces, children's activities, well-being sessions, making new friends and learning new skills to just simply enjoying a cuppa whilst taking in the most stunning views of Dartmoor. Happy days have been spent here, from the garden's infancy to the thriving hub of activity in more recent years. I love the event days, from Drumming circles, crystal workshops to apple pressing and simple days of weeding, planting and drinking a well deserved tea (and sometimes not any effort put in days - that ok too) bringing people of similar mindsets together. Lin Harper has been the beating heart of the Community Garden for so many years now and has seen so many of the dreams realised from the water supply (at last), compost loo shed, Men in Sheds and to the wonderful building that is the Heart Space a warm haven to shelter when the Dartmoor rain makes an appearance.

I recommend anyone pop up to see what is going on. I guarantee a gentle and warm welcome. There will be no expectation to be a garden expert (I'm not), just a willingness to appreciate the beauty of the place and know that it is for you to enjoy too!
