It is a lovely museum to visit.
Many artefacts of Dartmoor life, it was interesting and informative.
We thought it was good value for money, easy to find with private parking.
We spent about 90 minutes in the museum and then had afternoon tea next door.
We would like to thank Cheryl and Mo for their knowledge and expertise. It was lovely talking to them.

It's alright. Some interesting information and things to see. It's on 3 floors but has lift to each floor. Beautiful building

Spent an hour and half wandering through this under rated gem. Really interesting to see such a lot of items displayed, many of which were explained with writings near by. A lot of nostalgia for my elderly parents. Great mix of informative and interactive displays. Although we were older adults visiting, we still enjoyed playing around in the archaeology sandpits and seeing the dress up items available. As of writing this in June 2024, there was a wonderful display about fairies and mythology in the gallery. Worth a visit on its own if that kind of thing interests you as much as it does me!

Lived in the area all my life, and finally went in to see what it was like, and was alot bigger than I thought, was really interesting and would definitely go again! (only took pics of the vehicles!) definitely recommend visiting!

A small but informative local museum which covers Dartmoor life from the Bronze Age up to the middle of the last century. Exhibits include mythology and folklore, daily life, farming and agriculture, geology and more. My 6 and 8 year old were entertained for a decent 45 minutes-1 hour exploring the 3 floors of artefacts and displays.
