First of all hello everyone it took me 5 months to get into gordon moody and they sent me to parkland place where they work for the first two weeks I was exposed to everything there in two weeks gambling, drinking, being bullied because my English was not good I was treated unfairly by some employees I could not benefit from my rights I was patient I went there thinking I would go to gordon moody I was able to stay there for a week there was no drinking or gambling but my rights were violated again by my therapist and the employees there I was disrespected I told them I wanted to go back home they did not help me get a train ticket we ordered my medicine no employee helped me get it for 4 days we got the medicine on the day I was going to go home the last day at 12:30 pm a taxi would come and take me to the train station the office doorbell rang I knocked on the door, not the mosque, but the woman who works there opened the door and spoke to me. The manager there cannot pass her word to anyone. Unfortunately, she is a good person, but the employees working around her are extremely amateur and disrespectful, they are so disrespectful that they talk to their patients through the window. Gordon Moody and the Parkland Place they work with are not a good institution at all. I do not recommend it in any way. It is an institution composed of two bad employees who are focused on the money they get from government institutions for you. I strongly do not recommend your family members to go. Respectfully, the decision is yours

I've just finished a 14 week residential at Gordon Moody. At first, I was a little apprehensive and dubious as to how successful I'd find the treatment, but my reservations were very wrong.
Not only is the treatment content good, the therapist I was assigned was superb, and my experience was a positive one with all staff.
However, there are no magic answers or pills, the hard work and changes must come from within, but having supportive, informed people around you throughout the treatment does help.
Classic cliche, but trust the process and as my therapist said 'lean in'.
Steve, the manager of the centre is one of a kind. A true gentleman, with a passion to improve the service and everyone's best interests at heart.
If gambling is ruining your life, seek the necessary help through Gordon Moody.

I went into Gordon Moody on December 15th 2023.I was in a situation that was now or never and I had to choose NOW.

my whole life has changed and my new life began on that date.Ibhave grown stronger and have been given the tools to become a clean living human being and i have managed to control my illness. The staff and the whole intense sessions have made me realise that the life I have to have is a clean one.Gordon Moody as an establishment saved my life and with time may get me my family back together again but this will hopefully come with that time.

I can't thank Steve and his team for what they did for me and i would say if you have a problem go and seek help from them.I feel as though stopping was the only way and I am 146 days clean and will continue my aftercare and support and see where we go.
THANKS again

Jamie

My partner went into Gordon Moody for the 14 week programme, support from staff was amazing. We did run into some issues but this was addressed swiftly.
My partner was safe in Gordon Moody and that was peace of mind for me.
You have to put the work in for this to work as you would have to for any other rehab.
Affected other service is 5 star, Steph is AMAZING! Always at the end of the phone when you needed her.
My only suggestion that i have for Gordon Moody is that family / loved ones are shown round the place to see the enviroment, a video tour would be enough to provide reasurance and maybe an information pack for family / loved ones for some useful information.
The whole process has supported myself and partner and has made us stronger.

Keep up the good work Gordon Moody!

Just a poor experience with gordon moody. Had the unfortunate circumstances in my life to be through their doors twice. First time in 2018 the place was amazing could feel the drive for everyone to get better, now it's a money hungry organisation that only cares about how much they can shake out of your pockets before discarding you. Was extremely unsatisfied with their services, staff ludicrously unrestrained. So much so if people actually knew they wouldnt believe it. All I can say is stay away from gordon moody, try and find alternative solutions for your gambling addiction plenty of other actual charities and companies willing to help. Would never ever recommend gordon moody to anyone

I gambled for over 35 years and lost everything that mattered to me in my life, my wife, my kids, my employment opportunities, our family home. I also lost trust and respect from friends & family along with my own self respect and dignity. I had absolutely NO-ONE ELSE or NOTHING ELSE to blame for this but myself, however during this period of my life I couldn't see or accept this. On 1st January 2017 I chose to apply to Gordon Moody Association for HELP. I'm so glad I did! I spent 14 weeks in residential rehab and a further 24 weeks in the HALFWAY HOUSE.
The quality of care, support, and understanding I received was 2nd to NONE. The staff are absolutely AMAZING!! Make NO doubt about it, it's NOT an easy journey. It literally strips you back to the bare bones, but my God it's worth it. IF you're prepared to open up, be completely honest, and engage fully in the programme, IT WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE & TOOLS to lead a normal life GAMBLING FREE. I have been gambling FREE for 2 years and I am forever GREATFUL to Gordon Moody and the team of staff who gave me the opportunity to finally change my life once and for all.
If you believe you have a problem with gambling, you should contact Gordon Moody. You won't regret it! Good luck 👍

My son is in Gordon moody in dudley at the moment and the care he is receiving there for his gambling addiction is nothing short of scandalous. He was promised help with courses that never materialised and when he asked about this they denied it was said and to compound matters they said he might have to leave even thought he has been there for a few months. It is all about money and they just treat him as an atm. Then to make matters worst for him they say he is Irish even though he lives in Northern Ireland and he pays taxes to the British government and has a British passport and the money he pays them has the queen's head on it. and his national flag is the union jack, is he being discriminated against because of where he is from? , would this happen if he was form Wales or Scotland. He went there for help as he was in a bad way mentally due to his gambling addiction. I am very disappointed that a charity employs people that discriminates against somebody that just went there as they needed help and we his family have tried for years to help him and we were mistaken to think that Gordon moody would be the charity that could finally help him with his addiction and the mental illness he is suffering because of it. So sad and disappointed.
