My sister had been in Avenues Shipbourne Road care home for 2.5 years and throughout that time her care has been wonderful. The home itself is run almost as a family, where the clients are respected and encouraged to take part, if they are able, in the various tasks in the house. There is a good rapport between staff and clients. The clients get on well with each other. Each is assigned a Key Worker who works closely with them to ensure their client is given the opportunity to have outings, go out for meals, go on holiday, go shopping, riding, bowling, cinema, theatre etc. Throughout the fortnight prior to my sister dying I was given permission to stay with her night & day which gave us both quality time which was such a blessing to us both. I witnessed the staff going the extra mile for the clients time and time again. This is true dedication which is to be admired & praised. The permanent staff are true carers. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending this care home to anyone. Sally
