The "doctor" always messes up. Once or twice fairenough. But he made mistake like 3 or 4 times now and still continues to make errors

Not very organized and dont realise some people might work. They expect everyone to be bums and if u not. They make your life much harder than what it should be

They don't listen and they are kind of incompetent

BE WARNED. THEY DON'T CARE IS IMPRESSION I GET FROM CGL SOUTHWARK, CROYDON AND ESPECIALLY CGL BROMLEY

Unfortunately, I've been with this service for over 20 years on and off and have slowly watched the demise of a really good service. It started as BAIS and was purely a drug service run by experienced councellors on a one to one basis who actually cared and offered superb advice and councelling. It then changed to BCDP and different staff started appearing but still offered a decent one to one service. And then BDAS arrived and the whole attitude towards clients changed with it. The caring attitude and experienced councellors disappeared too and the whole place seems to concentrate on clients with alcohol problems and is now run by volounteers and inexperienced box tickers. One to one meetings are gone and now it's multiple people meetings reading from bits of paper. When you do have an issue and ask for support you now get punished and threatened by having to start from the beginning as if you'd just joined the service and back to daily prescription pick ups. Personally i find BDAS a total waste of taxpayers money and feel that weekly prescriptions may just as well be picked up from a GP. I feel like the whole service has lost it"s direction and the reason why they're there in the first place, to help vulnerable people with support and to try and get off drugs. Like most " support services" nowadays it's all about targets and ticking the right boxes. Noone seems to care anymore !!!

BDAS offer help and support to anyone with alcohol or other addiction, including support for families and friends of addicts however they do not have a magic wand so you need to engage with them and want to help yourself. I reduced my alcohol intake with their help over several months then had a successful medical detox through them. I will forever have to keep working to keep myself sober as there is no cure for alcoholism but BDAS gave me a positive start and helped me in the right direction.

I am disgusted by the service offered by BDAS and so very disappointed that the NHS and Bromley Council think this is the best way to support vulnerable people seeking help. They do not pick up the phone, have system failures and let people down. Finally after 6 months of constant pushing, someone gets onto the programme it is very short and appears to teach the addict absolutely zero about being able to cope with cravings associated with an addiction. Some of the people are lovely and supportive but this is one of the worst mental health services I have ever seen. And yet there appears to be to little else on offer.

If a loved one or friend needs help with addiction, living in Bromley, BDAS is the place to go. Non judgemental, excellent staff. Needle exchange if needed. All drug and alcohol addictions are addressed here, even if you just need help reducing.

I really want to thank Antonio and all of the team at BDAS in helping me to recover from alcohol addiction. I still take each day with care not to touch any alcohol because it would be so easy for me to go back on the rollercoaster of bing drinking again, even after the few years I have kept away from drinking. I still need to remember that Xmas & New year can be a very dangerous time for me.

Attend Lifering meetings here and get AA Lite - poor poor quality!
Trying to avoid AA dogma - I want Lifering. London Road Lifering sadly is AA without GOD etc. Does NOT follow Lifering's Recovery By Choice Handbook in any way at all! Fine if you can't discriminate - I am sure Lifering Head Office would not condone this agressive ideological insensitive dogma! Is this one on the council tax bill? Rubbish training of
convenors!
