Confusing once you find a cab in town to bring you out to their farm. There is no signage for where to enter apart from a single arrow that points to one of many gates. We were scolded for entering the wrong gate after standing outside for 10 minutes.
The owner was very nice but curt, and we felt rushed along. Most of the experience is sitting in a cold, dirty outbuilding, and listening to the owner talk about collies and their attributes. Then we watched a 2 minute video on her phone while she left to get a dog for us to meet. We watched this video loop maybe 8 times.
I know it's a working farm, and I can appreciate that, but there needs to be attention paid to the beverage station, items for sale, and overall cleanliness. We rode a train from London 2 hours each way for this experience and while I don't regret it, it wasn't worth the time spent to get out there or the £160 we paid for a private experience plus one spectator.
I very much believe the passion and experience in herding dogs is there, maybe they are stretched too thin to give this tourist attraction the attention it needs.

Expert advice and training provided for us as a collie owner. Made far more sense than all the behavioural consultants I spoke to, who charge ridiculous amounts! If you have a collie and need help, call Barbara and Vicky at the centre. They take you back to the very basics - no tools or toys, special collars etc - just good, sound sense.

I have visited here and attended several talks by Barbara. She is amazing with collies and does a brilliant job of educating and helping people work with their dogs. Her work rehabilitating frightened and anxious collies is admirable.

Have visited this charity premises twice.... excellent staff who show a deep knowledge and dedication to this breed. Be aware though they won't give dogs to people who they think are not suitable for this breed of dog.

I have adopted 2 dogs from this rescue. The staff here are totally focussed on doing what is right for the dogs, and take great care to make sure the right person gets the right dog for them. They offer life long support and training for their adopted dogs. They also keep dogs that cannot be rehomed for health or behaviour reasons in their sanctuary to live out their lives in security.
