I love this choir. I had been looking out for a choir which was fairly local which would be fun with a wide variety of music and in the day time. Singing in .... fits the bill entirely and I couldn't be happier. Kate is a fantastic choir leader along with Pete and they both have a lovely manner which sets the friendly tone of the meetings. The people who attend are lovely and enthusiastic and we have a lot of fun. It is wonderful how Kate encourages us and to hear the harmonies progress is quite magical.
I have been very fortunate to attend the zoom meetings throughout the pandemic which has been a huge highlight to look forward to each week and to meet and sing in a field more recently. We were so excited to meet up in real life and sing together. We all long to be able to meet up properly at soon as we possibly can to sing together.

Singing In... Oughtibridge Choir

Firstly, NO auditions. Yay! And it’s such fun!

Kate is so very passionate about music and choral singing, and it really shows. She is very patient with us, encouraging and enthusiastic. She works us hard definitely but always makes the sessions fun. We have a very varied repertoire.

All parts are taught thoroughly, joining a couple of sections at a time till we’re confident across the board. And we’re at liberty to swap to a different part if we want to. Kate is an excellent teacher and highly respected by us all. She will repeatedly go over a section of music until everyone is happy. Without Kate, and more recently Pete, the choir would not be what it is.

A really friendly happy little choir! I enjoy my weekly "sing" - and the chance to sing along with new music in a fun and no-pressure way. Really inclusive choir, and no pressure to be a "good" singer - just a chance to sing for pleasure!
