I recently attempted to book Bradwell Lodge and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. This location is run by volunteers who don't necessarily respond to booking inquiries in a timely manner. The mobile number listed against their Google account does not work, and the office phone is not regularly manned.

While I must commend that the venue is kept in very good condition, this is the only positive aspect I can highlight from my experience.

I was left with only 2 weeks before my proposed booking date to receive feedback on our request concerning a vendor's setup, which was crucial for the booking itself. Due to the lack of communication and feedback, I was unable to make the necessary adjustments for the event, and as a result, I had to cancel the booking for the large hall.

Subsequently, two working days later, I attempted to rebook the same date but for the smaller room. Unfortunately, this request was not accommodated. When I tried to clarify the reason for this over the phone, the volunteer I spoke with became angry and accused me of raising my voice and arguing, which was not the case.

Additionally, being a person of colour, certain choices of wording and the demeanour of the volunteer in question gave the impression that there was internalised prejudice influencing some of the decision-making. This made an already frustrating situation even more disheartening.

Overall, the poor communication and unprofessional behavior from the volunteers, combined with the sense of internalised prejudice, made this a very negative experience. I would not recommend relying on Bradwell Lodge for any important events.

Lovely place, but had an absolute nightmare parking. While I was trying to turn round someone moved into the space I was using so I stopped trying to turn round while they did then they started beeping at me for being in their way when I hadn't moved since they decided to stop waiting for me to turn around and get out of the turning area.
