I am saddened to say this but the institution lacks the ethics required to honor its financial responsibilities to local guarantors (in many cases a requirement to rent a property abroad). In one instance the house was financially mismanaged by Happy Child to the extent that the owner of the property had to sue the guarantors. This local couple had to bring lawyers in and pay for a settlement on their own. They almost lost their own home because of this. No help (legal or financial) was offered by Happy Child International regardless of the multiple contacts to the institution and to Sarah De Carvalho.

It is my deeply held belief that when a charity flat out scams its partners abroad, it does more of a disservice to other charities. The couple I mentioned will never get involved with any other charities again because of them. And I suspect that they are not alone.

If I were you, I wouldn't donate, finance a project, participate on fundraisers, have my brand or myself associated with any one of them.
