I've had to come to Barncoose Hospital twice lately, and on both occasions the staff were lovely - patient under pressure and always willing to answer questions. The last visit was to get a dressing changed, and I couldn't have wished for better treatment.
I was seen bang on my appointment time by such a kind and friendly nurse. The whole experience made me feel much better that day - thank you to you all

I went to MIU today. I was seen quickly, everyone I had contact with was lovely and put me at ease. I saw a lovely junior doctor, Doctor Andrew, and triage team. Special mention of a lovely man trying with all his heart to take my blood ( which was a pain in the ass because of my veins) he was so happy and nice he is a credit to any hospital! (Maybe Italian or Greek Had an accent and has a dog) ❤️❤️❤️ Thankyou.

The first time I have visited the A & E here was yesterday. A great service and very helpful staff. A big thank you to the lady doctor who managed to wrangle a Sunday appointment for me to see a specialist at the acute eye care hospital at Royal Cornwall Truro . It was greatly appreciated. A wonderful service. Really appreciated.

My husband was referred to A&E by 111. He was given great care and attention with thorough examination and tests. However, over the two+ hours we were there, there no hot drinks available and the vending machine for snacks was empty and wouldn't be refilled for another four days!

I was advised by a pharmacist to go to Barncoose on Saturday as my blood pressure was high. I must admit in triage from the receptionist to the doctors and nurses they were all wonderful, kind and professional. Thank you so much. alison appleton

Went to Barncoose on Thursday 3rd with severe lower abdominal pain and vomiting. Walked into reception to see the curtian down (at 9.50pm) after hearing my wails / crying they rolled the blind up to tell me they are closing in 10 mins and i need to go somewhere else.
I explained how much pain i was in and how severe my condition was and they said "the doctors wont see you, they have 3 patients in already, go somewhere else like Truro"

My partner had some words as he was miffed they turned me away, he went to bring the car around whilst i was doubled over on the pavement outside the hospital crying in agony and heaving, only to then have a staff member step around me as she left for the day.
I get everyone has a home time but to be turning patients away when you are not even closed yet is awful, especially after i described my condition and how serious it was!
Absolute joke .

If you go here unwell they want you dead.
Went into minor injuries as asthmatic with suspected pneumonia- the on duty Dr with “22 years of medicine” behind him was CERTAIN it was depression! He congratulated me saying he had never seen someone “manage to do that to themselves without leaving marks” - there were no “marks” because it was PLEURISY. NOT depression and NOT self harm. Pneumonia confirmed by a different hospital 3 days later showing fluid all over my lungs.
