I’ve had contact with WCWA and other agencies over the course of a few years. What made them stand out from others is their ability to work with individuals who don’t quite fit into a standard service user profile, as in able to attend a 12-week counselling course, or similar. Many organisations are now tied to meeting Gvt demands for ‘Outcomes’ to attract funding. By its very nature, DV sometimes means leaving an area / being unsettled. WCWA have been an anchor for me during those times, offering at least some sort of constant stability by phone. They have been more accommodating than some charity-run organisations. I hope they can continue this way.
