This gorgeous village in the Cotswolds is part of my childhood as my Nan & Grandad had a caravan nearby. It's full of picturesque buildings, boutique shops, traditional pubs & restaurants. Parking nearby is at a premium (pay & display carparks are in the surrounding streets though but will mean you need to walk a bit) & it does get busy with coach loads of tourists but definitely worth a visit

Broadway is billed as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds'. It is indeed a scintillating charming village nestled at the foot of the Fish Hill. Wonderful assortment of shops and dining options line the High Street. Picked up some picnic goodies from
the Broadway Deli and headed for the Broadway Tower to enjoy stunning views from the top of the Cotswolds escarpment.

I can imagine if you were an American or Japanese tourist (or from Uzbekistan) you would view this as a very pleasant village

Whilst my first impressions were that it was another ‘Disney in the Cotswolds’ it did appear to have a degree of commercial soul

I suppose the ‘Broadway Deli’ ( look it up) was the show stopper for any tourist, with classic cars in the windows and a fine selection of produce (nicely presented)

The Gordon Russel Museum is also just off the high street (google it)

Didn’t manage to try one of the high street pubs, but at 11am in the morning, even if they served beer, the Mrs would have cast her beady eye in my direction at such a thought (?but it was a nice thought )

And why Morris dancer would be active at that time of the morning I have no idea, but they were, so I’m afraid you are going to have to suffer the following videos ( I retract guys, you were good)

I think I witnessed a ‘Morris Off’ but not quite sure ?

Anyway, take a visit, you will probably see far more than I did

But I will defiantly go back for another sniff

And so will the Dog

I love coming to the Cotswolds it always makes me smile and totally relaxed must be the atmosphere up here and the good clean air. Broadway has some great little shops, cafes and pubs that serve good food. For the more adventurous the walk up to Broadway Tower is breath taking for the views as you walk up. Great cafe at the top well worth visiting as you will probably need food and coffee after the walk up. Enjoy.

Very good for mooching around shops all of which welcomed dogs and gave a treat to them ,accept the cotswold shop who said if I carried him ,he is a flat coat retriever of 26kg. Every where else was so friendly which resulted in spending in many shops. A friendly beautiful and clean area. Very pleasant overall.
