We were booked in on a bed and breakfast basis for 3 nights from a Monday to a Wednesday night and we were aware that there would be no evening meal service for the first two nights. The hotel and grounds are lovely and the staff we came into contact with were very welcoming and pleasant. Unfortunately the bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable and hard. For a lightweight person the mattress had absolutely no ‘give’ in it at all. I had next to no sleep and was in a lot of pain by the morning, so much so that we decided to cut short our stay. Obviously in accordance with the terms and conditions we were liable for the total cost, which I duly and very sadly paid. However, as we seemed to be the only guests in residence at the time, our late decision to cancel had not prevented anyone else from booking and I do believe that we could have been met halfway with costs in the interests of good customer relations. We were offered another room but there was no guarantee that the bed would be any different. I know different people have different requirements but worth a thought if you are a lightweight and prefer a medium sprung bed! The breakfast was nicely cooked and presented, but the choice was limited compared to other similar standard hotels and there did not appear to be any pastries/croissants on offer. So overall, for us, a waste of rather a lot of money!

Outstanding experience at the chef’s table!
We arrived as party of 4 and had one of the best culinary experiences of our lives.
The knowledge and talent of the kitchen staff was second to none and the service was absolutely impeccable.
We forgot to mention the dairy intolerance of one of the guests, however it was not a problem at all and the chef had tailored all courses to suit the whole party.
The grounds around the building are stunning and the atmosphere inside was reminiscent of a luxurious stately home.
Highly recommend!

Another memorable experience at Fischer's. We have been coming here for many years to eat and stay and each time it is a delight. We came for two stays in September 2024 - the first overnight, the second as a family for Sunday lunch. Peaceful, relaxed and restful atmosphere, beautiful and lavish decor that's in keeping with the arts and crafts period architecture, outstanding gardens and location, and, of course, terrific food. Service is really friendly, the staff describing every dish with clear passion. Completely unexpectedly, my wife found a birthday card signed by all the restaurant staff on our dinner table during our overnight stay - a lovely and thoughtful surprise. Overall, one of our absolute favourite places. Thank you.

So much hospitality! Hands down this is the best service I’ve ever received in any hotel; I felt quite spoiled. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped for self pampering. The lounge was a quiet place for tea or a little socializing before the exquisite multi course meal. The gardens were impeccable and evident in every meal. Fischer’s was my first experience in the UK and I will definitely return as it is unforgettable. Much gratitude to Neil, Otto, Michael, Jennifer and John, not to mention the entire chef staff- they are delightful people.

We stayed on a Monday night, my 60th birthday. The restaurant was closed which we knew so we ate locally that evening. My husband had mentioned that it was my 60th birthday. He had booked a garden room expecting that we would have a garden view. We did not. On arrival there was no acknowledgement of my birthday. I am also coeliac. Gluten free biscuits were left in the room. No fresh milk as there isn't a fridge. Milk was supplied on request but did not last until the morning. At breakfast my husband had granola, yoghurt and berries. I was given the same and just double checked that the granola was gf, it was not. I was then given yoghurt and berries. No effort was made to create gluten free granola. No choice. Just the 'without' response to coeliac. For this level of hotel I think that is incredibly poor and disappointing. I am disappointed for my husband who thought he was booking something special for me. The coffee, tea and juice were excellent. The waiting staff very friendly. My poached eggs were cooked well. I think they were served on a potato cake of some description. It was very chewy. The salmon was excellent. The gf toast was just a standard white packet gf bread. I did not eat it. So all in all somewhat mixed feelings, however the garden is stunning and I enjoyed talking with the head gardener

Terrific Hotel/Restaurant in The Peaks near Bakewell. Luxury rooms set in lovely gardens with a Michelin Plate restaurant attached (that has a separate Tripadvisor page). ||Stylish rooms with outstanding service. Friendly staff with great advice on what to visit in the area. Chatsworth House and Hadden Hall very close by.

This was a rescheduled visit from July after my wife was ill. Yes it is very expensive, but in my eyes, worth every penny to see the joy she took from our visit, after all, it was her belated birthday treat. |We both felt at ease and relaxed, the grounds are very beautiful and well maintained and the food was at another level to anything we have previously experienced. Our room was comfortable and quiet, everything was just spot on. We will return but some saving up required. Thank you to all the staff for your efforts.

We meet our Derbyshire friends annually for dinner and had to book Fischer Hall at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. It was tremendous. Everything about the evening was superb. The staff were incredibly professional but also attentive and charming. In fact I it was some of the best service I've ever experienced .||The food was fantastic and innovative. The surroundings are beautiful.
