This place brings me back interesting memories from the 90s when it first opened in late 1992. I was one of the first of the residents who moved in when it opened and The regional news showed up to interview the residents and staff. I chose not to go on TV, I left that to someone else to do. But it was great fun back then. I got to know a few people there. It was clean and everything was brand new. I wasn't there long as it was temporary. But I did go in to the drop in centre next door at times. It doesn't look any different from the outside today. It went through a bad patch when it got corrupted by bent security staff and dodgy residents after a while. I know because I knew people who used to work there. I moved to Tate close up the road just off Eastfield Road and that was an other corrupt shelter. There was Fraud going on there with bent staff and bad tenants. I moved out of Peterborough 20 years ago now but I like passing by down memory lane when I visit at times. I was last in Peterborough 4 years ago.

So the staff are nice but this "charity" is supposed to help you, the second you start work you are expected to pay close to full rent (depends on how much you make) it is physically impossible to save money here unless you make over 500 a week. I fully understand they need to pay staff but at £372 a week it becomes more extortion then reasonable. I do thank the staff as they are lovely though. When i was homless i was given a home. But it is sad that it's almost like the end of the line unless you're lucky to have the council house you. Given that 3 months is the maximum stay and my 3 month stay i wasn't offered a single property it really does become end of the line. I got a job and started renting a new property but in just 3 weeks from starting work i now owe this place roughly 800 to 1000. Again this is supposedly a charity. And even after i started paying rent out of my own money the day of moving out i was rushed out VERY quickly. I was being charged for the full weeks rent but had to be out on the day. That was one employee though. The rest generally are relaxed. I just think something is going on behind closed doors as something didn't feel right when i was there. My neighbours generally were nice but i did have one overly aggressive neighour who at some points made me fear staying there. Someone staying here generally doesn't have much of a choice and im not here to slander this company. They did give me a home when i had no where else to go. But the plave they call a charity did also put me in a ton of debt. Its also a shame that i felt i had to walk on eggshells to be there. I understand why they had so many rules but it was supposed to feel like a home progressing people further into their life acting like a stepping stone. Personally it felt more like a brick wall to no where and right back to where i started. The one thing i can say is that the in house therapist lady is lovely. I enjoyed talking to her and is generally the only bit about timestop i felt was nice. For anyone looking to move in or moving in i wish you all the very best in the future. It may feel like you're at a dead end but don't give up. I didn't give up and pushed myself very hard to get out of this place. If i a nobody can do it then you a somebody can 🙂

Little note every Monday at roughly 12 noon the fire alarm goes off for a few minutes. Highly irritating but hey ho it happens.

Goodbye timestop and thank you staff. Please all have a wonderful life and i kindly hope to not need to ever be in this sitation again.
