We adopted our beautiful greyhound Peggy from Sheffield Retired Greyhounds. Lynda recommended her to us after we completed our application form, and we couldn't be happier. She's a perfect match for us and we now couldn't imagine life without her. The whole team at SRG are lovely. Roy, Lynda and Zena were extremely helpful, and gave us lots of advice and clearly care about their animals. Thank you!

I began volunteer dog walking here back in March 2024 following a visit at an open day. I’ve been met with open arms by the staff and a welcoming community of lovely people who visit with their greys on a regular basis. I’m hooked and I come as many days as possible!
It is very apparent that the dogs are at the centre of everything these people do. They’re well looked after and the staff are very good at offering their wisdom if you’re looking to adopt.
The open days are full of friendly faces and brill stalls for you and your dog.
If you’re considering adopting one of these beautiful dogs I’d wholeheartedly recommend coming for a visit either at the open days or just on a free morning. They’re such gentle loving creatures and I now have my own thanks to SRG and the amazing community.

We love these guys. We adopted our Greyhound from them in October 2022. We filled a short questionnaire in and they matched us perfectly to her. The love they have for their job and the dogs is amazing.

It’s been a few months now since we took Lou Lou into our home and I have to say she’s an absolute sweetheart and a breath of fresh air, such an amazing character. My husband and I started volunteering at SRG in 2019 and have been keen supporters ever since. Finally last year after falling in love with a number of these beautiful gentle souls we got our own hound Ivy. She's an absolute joy and has enriched our lives. I can't fault the staff who are comitted to finding every greyhound in their care a loving home.

I went to see the greyhounds with the intention of bringing one home and came back with two! One is never enough and there are so many beautiful gentle hounds here with so much love in their hearts, some who are long term residents just waiting to share their love. To say these guys know their stuff is an understatement, everyone concerned are helpful and supportive and give their time freely. Go along and support them in any way you can, they have the most beautiful Christmas cards you can buy, they always need blankets and donations of money 💰 dig deep!!! And remember ADOPT A GREY, you won't regret it!

The hounds have changed my life so much for the better and the wonderful people at Sheffield Retired Greyhounds are now much valued friends, always there for help and advice, the amount of greyhound knowledge there is incredible. I adopted my Greyhound Maddy (Stepaside Merc) 8 years ago when I started volunteering at SRG. I can’t praise the staff enough for their dedication in looking after and rehoming these beautiful dogs. The staff are always available if you need advice about any concern you may have, no matter how small.
