Free site not manned but in quiet village, no real parking but we were the only ones there so not an issue just outside on the road. But oh what a hidden gem, great preserved ruins from just foundations to whole walls, beautiful colour stone, well kept surrounding area, with another part of the ruins on the other side of the road. Very atmospheric and empty old stone coffins to add to it. Glad we made the effort to get to it.

If in the area , it's well worth a visit. It comes a real surprise as you drive down narrow winding country roads to see the area open up and with large ruins either side of the road. This is a free English heritage site , and there is very limited parking (2 or 3 cars max) no toilets or cafe , just a wonderful site to explore.

Interesting Abbey ruins on private property. Admission, free. Some ruins of castles which are in poorer state than this one, ask admission.

The ruins give plenty of nice photos. Especially on a sunny day.

There are not many parking spots.
To take the most out of this scenic place for photos, you'll need a maximum of 1/2 hour.

Croxden Abbey is an English heritage with ruin building, it is free to go memberships or not. There are opening hours and a small car park. There is no receptionist, it is a historical place building. A worth to visit.

Lovely day with blue skies - a quick walk round - not too far away is St Giles Church. Snowdrops! Amazing how Croxddn Abbey was built.

Excellent free English Heritage site. Right by the road side, lots of history to walk amongst. The architecture is fantastic, well worth a visit. 😊
