After a two year wait my Enfield National Trust Group finally got to visit Buckden Towers. We were not disappointed. A beautiful collection of buildings immersed in so much history. The story of Catherine of Aragon was bought alive when we looked at the beautiful Knot Garden, a place where she would have roamed during her stay.
Our fabulous guides were volunteers from the Friends of Buckden Towers and they really knew their stuff. We were mesmerised by their wealth of knowledge and there was no better end to the afternoon than sitting on the lawns with tea and biscuits under the cool majestic trees.
A magical place and we commented on how peaceful and tranquil the surrounding were. We were sad to leave with our feelings of peace and calm.
