This hostel is in a superb location. Positioned by the coast path, a short walk to the lizard point, chough and seals nearby, a short walk to a good pub and a stunning lighthouse next door. This was perfect accommodation for our group. However it is very sad to hear it won't be taking individual bookings during the summer in future. Lots of sleeping options. Kitchen, bedrooms, lounge and dining rooms all very basic but clean. The lounge and bedrooms were all warm enough in cold weather and the showers were powerful and hot. It is very exposed, great sea views from four rooms but in strong winds these were understandably noisy. Kitchen utensils were limited. Bring all your own food, condiments etc, as there is nothing provided. Bring your own shower soap and shampoo. Great drying room. I really enjoyed our short stay.

For location this hostel cannot be beaten. You will also find the equipment you need for a wonderful holiday and a very spacious lounge, plenty of parking and space to drive to door with all your gear before doing so. Huge grounds and direct access to the coastal path.|Wake up to fabulous sea view!

YHA Lizard has an enviable location overlooking Lizard Point and for a coast lover like myself made for the most perfect coastal retreat. Easy access to some fabulous walks both on the coast path and inland footpaths. I used my stay to walk the section of the coast path between Porthleven and Cadgwith but will definitely return to explore the area. The self catering facilities provided all you could need and the spacious lounge and dining room area made the stay comfortable. The drying room was great for those wet and muddy boots. I was lucky enough to have the comfortable dorm to myself which shared the same fabulous views as the communal rooms. The bathrooms were very clean and functional.||The hostel manager Chris was very friendly and helpful and I'm looking forward to returning and enjoying the view from the lovely gardens overlooking the sea. See you again soon!

What a stunning location! The hostel is right next to the coast, with exceptional views, and a an access path to the coast. The facilities provided were great, the communal kitchen contained everything you would need, and everything was clean and well maintained. The double bed sagged in the middle which I struggled with, but the location, value, and friendliness of staff made up for that.

Incomparable is the key word.

The location is astonishing. We where told the building was an old high-end hotel, and we believe them. You have stunning views 360 degrees, throw a rock and go pick it up and you have found an amazing trail to follow.

And the price doesn't reflect this at all! Looking at the location, this should have been at least 5x the price!

But it's also a strange place. The rooms are tiny, and there is next to no staff. You cook your own food. The entire place is SUPER children safe, with even floor-level windows limited in how much they open to secure children from falling out.

This extends into the first problems. Yes, there is heating issues. Having all windows only open about 10-15 cm. means on a good day, the air gets pretty bad in the entire house.

Secondly, you live next to a light house. The light isn't much of an issue, but if it is foggy, they sound the horns... every... 30... seconds.... all the time.

Finally, everyone beside us had small children (aged 0-7), and they seemed to have a blast. I can't really put the pieces together as to why this place is great for new families, but it seems to be.

Overall, a pleasant stay. I won't recommend it for everyone, but for the right people, you won't find anything better, anywhere.

As a 56 yr old, I was unsure of booking in at a YOUTH Hostel, but shouldn't of been concerned, great cross section of ages and made very welcome. A superb location as well right on the SW Coast Path which we have now just completed. We also stayed at the Caverack Hostel which is conveniently along the coast which again was superb with the added bonus of supplying meals, also a great days walk away so makes for a great combined two night stay.

Wonderful location and really friendly and helpful staff. Also the room we had has an amazing view to wake up to. The wheelchair accessible wet room was plenty big enough although I’ve docked them a star for the call for aid pull being tied up so high that even someone stood up could not reach it ( have contacted them and they’ve promised to fix it so 🤞🏽 ).
Things to note are the wifi isn’t the fastest and gets overloaded very easily with lots of users, so at peak times it won’t be great. Also the kitchen isn’t the largest so you can have to wait for space to cook and if others aren’t on top of their cleaning things run out.
But all in I’m sure I’ll be back at some point the location is amazing and it’s great value for money 💶

This is a beautiful hostel in a n absolutely stunning location. Great for walkers as this is right on the coastal path. Chris at the reception is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen in this self-catering hostel is very nice. Only issue is there is no wifi in the rooms - only in the common lounge. Even the wifi in the lounge is very slow. That's the only downside to this hostel. Apart from that everything is perfect!👌👍☺️
