We haven't visited Gravetye Manor for some years, which has been a mistake.
We visited this time for lunch. Which quite frankly was superb.
In 2018 a new dinning room was opened mainly constructed of glass offering fabulous views of the beautiful gardens.
From the moment you arrive the staff are happy and helpful. The reception rooms are still part of the original building, complete with log fires ( perfect in the winter )
The service in the restaurant was spot on, always attentive but not intrusive.
The food was absolutely delicious. There were 6 of us and every plate was pretty much licked clean.
The portion size was perfect. However to help burn off some of the extra calories I would recommend a walk round the gardens and kitchen garden ( they do supply wellingtons.
We certainly won't be leaving so long to revisit.
Highly recommend. You must book well in advance. There's ample parking.
Excellent.

Superb from start to finish, from the welcoming drinks by the blazing fire in the hall, to the exquisite petit fours at the end of our magnificent lunch. Food is faultless, not just beautifully and artistically presented, but full of wonderful taste explosions that titillate the palette- it’s a true sensory experience and the chef is really talented. Everything is so thoughtful, the canapés, amuse bouches, bread and delicious butter are all excellent.|I have lunched/dined here several times and on my last visit several years ago, I was not impressed-today, I was more than impressed, I was delighted. Gorgeous lunch and of course I shall want to repeat the experience and will undoubtedly return.

We visited the Dining Room for lunch as a party of 6. First impressions of the venue were just great. Historic, inspiring and very relaxing all in a fabulous setting. The restaurant itself has a fabulous wow factor and ambience, and the staff, food and service were all fantastic. With the wonderful courses and all the ‘in-betweens’ you will not leave hungry! and every element was just fabulous. All things considered, I think great value for money too! Thank you Gravetye Manor for an exceptional experience 🙏

Our Christmas present to each other was a night away, with dinner and breakfast, at Gravetye Manor. Friends had visited, and on the strength of their comments, we decided to treat ourselves. ||When people speak so highly of a place, it’s easy for it not to live up to expectations. So, I was hoping that we would not be disappointed when we visited last Thursday. On pulling into the carpark, our first impression was very favourable, and things just got better from then on. We were greeted in the carpark, shown to reception and our cases were taken. ||Reception staff were lovely, check in swift and we were shown our room. Our room was upgraded, and when we saw where we would be staying, we couldn’t stop smiling. Our accommodation exceeded all our expectations. ||Before dinner we enjoyed a cocktail each in the bar, and were then shown to our table in the dining room. It’s misleading when you read that you will be served a three course dinner. We each chose our three courses, and even before we received our starter, three very tasty dishes, along with a selection of bread and butter, were brought to our table. Another tasty morsel appeared before our mains arrived, and another before our desert. Each dish was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful, and the wines the Sommelier chose for us complimented the dishes perfectly. After the meal we were shown to a small lounge where coffee and petit fours were waiting for us. The perfect end to a wonderful meal. ||After a comfortable night’s sleep we enjoyed a very tasty breakfast, overlooking the lovely garden. ||The whole experience was a wonderful treat, all the staff were great, and we hope to return very soon. Thanks to all.

Here for a private dining room lunch with family, ages ranging from teens to 70+ and the everything about the day was spot on.|Canapes and fizz outside on the terrace made for an excellent start and the lunch itself was superb. The menu obviously changes but the Dorset crab and Sussex lamb were real highlights. |More the the food and surroundings though, what I enjoy about Gravetye is the fact that it's understated and unpretentious. It's good and knows it's good but doesn't have to make the point. Attentive but unobtrusive service, stylish but unfussy and friendly staff.|Not cheap but worth very penny (especially if someone else is paying).
