Never been to a wildlife trust/park/wood before were wildlife (dogs are not allowed in cafe). One of the main reasons you would go to this sort of place.

Apparently it's the same across Essex, because a few dog owners across the region didn't look after their dogs properly, every single person with a dog now has to suffer and be hugely inconvenienced. We had to sit out in the cold with our daughter to have lunch, as we drove an hour to come here.

Gruffalo trail also very badly sign posted.

Woods themselves are lovely and some nice facilities

Lovely selection of cakes, sandwiches and light snacks.
The Coffee is good and they have a nice selection of Tea's.
They have Tiptree jams and sauces, Gruffalo toys and books so something for everyone in the shop.

Great midday walk with the family, it’s not flat, wear comfortable clothes, kids like the trail to find the animals. Like being out in the forest, but it’s only a short drive out. Parking is not that expensive, no entry fee so a great afternoon walking amongst the trees.
