The rugby was good but to be honest the place is a dump clubhouse seen better days , toilets were awful, picnic benches outside are rotten , used to be such a great place to go enjoy the rugby but sad to say it's had it's day

Arrived about 45 minutes before the 3 pm kick off and things were already buzzing with noise and atmosphere being generated by some youngsters who were to play an exhibition at half time already in the stand. Easy access to the car park although signage was poor except at the final.turning. parking was free which put me in a generous mood. parked easily and paid for entry at the entry kiosk. Was offered a concession but although I qualified, declined preferring the saving to go into the club. Stewards were really friendly offering guidance to the sand and clearly interacted very positively with the regulars. Already this welcoming experience was contributing to a good visit.
Walking across the front of the grandstand towards the bars and pasty concessions was easy, again being acknowledged by friendly stewards. A big steak pasty and a coffee whilst watching the opposition (Leeds Tykes) warm up was clear and the other supporters around were savouring the atmosphere. The bars were well staffed and none too busy at this time with bar prices being very acceptable. Toilets were clean and functional which is truly a godsend when visiting from a distance. No one wants to wade in and wade out but these on offer were clean and well maintained.
Kick off loomed and we made our way to the Grandstand where access was easy with plenty of seating available. Bench and squad players sat in front and were happy to engage with nearby supporters. The feeling of team spirit was high amongst those around me, young and old. Across from the grandstand (seated) was a further smaller stand (standing) that generated some vocal support heard around the whole ground.
I'm not a groundsman but the pitch looked well cared for and didn't offer any unexpectedly difficult footing or ball bounces due to divots or undulations. There were further bars around the ground with large screen TVs in them.although I didn't bust, just looked in from the outside. No queues visible and all appeared.well staffed. The PA announcer was clear a local boy and was very supportive of the Albion. Full time and players were accessible to talk with if you wanted, and every one of them appeared happy and engaging. ( A 50 point schooling if Leeds obviously helped but previous visits where the score was less impressive and occasionally not in Albion's favour don't seem to effect his aspect of the squad). All in all a really good experience from start to finish with everyone associated with it contributing. Something the club should be very proud of. Totally recommend this for a great afternoon, win lose or draw. Come on you Janners!
