We spent a fantastic afternoon at the Horse Trust. You can tell the horses are so well cared for. Beautiful surroundings, with walks nearby. The cafe was fabulous and everyone was so welcoming. It was beautifully maintained and great value for all the family. Just £8 per car. Loved reading all the fact sheets about the horses and learning about all the work they have done in service - it’s great for them to be able to retire to such a welcoming and beautiful place. We‘ll be returning!

Interesting information about each horse by their stable door.

Lovely tea room with inside & outside seating, and a small shop with souvenirs & toys.

Their museum gave more history about the Trust and about horses.

Lovely place, great to see the horses and really liked reading the stories of each one. Clearly a very huge operation here that appears to run very smoothly. Some of the horses have come from awful backgrounds and have been nurtured back to great health.

Cafe was very nice and reasonably priced with a good selection. The pot of tea was big enough for two big cups (unusual these days!) and the coffee was good by all accounts. They had oat and soya milk options for those that don’t drink cows milk.

We didn’t book, but it was recommended as sometimes parking is limited if they can’t open the additional parking due to the weather.

What a fabulous place, I loved meeting all the beautiful horses. It's a great place & the work they do is so beautiful. Lots to see & grabbed some great 2nd hand boots & some other bits in the tack shop & bric a brac stall that raises money for the horses.

Stunning horse sanctuary surrounded by the chiltern hills. All the animals have a story behind them, whether they were rescued and abandoned, ex-police or royal working horses, or even therapy horses in care homes! This is their place of rest. There is a lovely cafe with a delicious Victoria sponge. It’s also dog friendly and there are water bowls spotted around for your pup. It was only £8 for a vehicle, 3 of us went and a dog. We really enjoyed it. A special special place!

Its a beautiful place. But not very kid friendly. Would be nice if there were some kids steps dotted around so they could see the horses too. Lack of visible horses meant bored kids

Took my 2 girls there bank holiday Monday, cheap to get in and had a good couple of hours there. Worth a visit. Not a massive place but nice to support it.

What a lovely place to visit to see retired service and rescue horses. After emailing them in advance I was able to donate some items and buy some good used rugs for my own horse. Friendly staff/volunteers and great tea room
