We came to Jigsaw after four years of IVF treatment. We had friends who adopted with an independent agency and suggested we talk to at least three agencies. We chose Jigsaw after talking to two other London based agencies. We used the adopter app for Stage 1 and worked with a lovely social worker during Stage 2. Our assessment wasn't easy but the team kept us updated on everything we needed to do. We appreciated the honesty and can-do approach this agency has for adopters. The difference for us was during the matching stage. The insight and practical approach was amazing, from getting us updated reports to helping us prepare to meet our children in the introductions. I started to look into adoption in January 2022. My partner’s medical history made it difficult to have natural children.
We talked to 2 council adoption teams and 2 independent agencies. Jigsaw stood out for us.
The council team presentation felt like they wanted to put us off adoption and the other agency was very negative about what we could expect.
Jigsaw have worked with a lot of council teams and they understand the differences between all the teams.
The team is optimistic, they were committed to us and they delivered. They could not have done more for us. We’ve had to ask for support after we had our adoption order issued as well and they were still there. They didn’t need to help us but they did it anyway.
We are glad we chose Jigsaw. They changed our lives.

I think if you are realistic about both what you have to offer and what children are available to adopt then you will have a good outcome working with this agency.

Wouldn't even see us as we are 'more than an hour away' for an adoption agency that allegedly caters to the whole of England. They didn't specify that they only cover Oxfordshire. Awful

Five stars! We started with Jigsaw in 2021. We used the adopter app for Stage 1 and we loved it. It can feel like you have so much to do but you can track progress easily.
You get reminders telling you where you are and what is left to do. The training was great. We met other people going through the same stuff and we are still in touch now.
We had to take a pause between the two stages because we moved home and needed to sort out floors and the garden. In Stage 2, the assessment felt full-on but we saw our social worker every week and she was amazing.
Matching was slower because of the Covid issues in councils and then the kids moved foster home and had a change of social worker. This is with the council though and you have to remember, you have no rights over the children at this stage.
This is where we saw the difference in Jigsaw. We had updates, we had good advice about what to do when things were difficult and there were delays with the foster carers.
We were supported in meetings, we had help with the forms, sorting out nursery, school, NHS things. We knew what the children were entitled to have and Jigsaw helped us sort things like the certificates and extra support at school.
It’s hard to remember a time now when the kids were not here. There are so many myths about what you can or can’t do. Call Jigsaw and talk to them. The support for us has been amazing and we could not do this without Jigsaw. Thanks so much Pearl Nita, Khalida

They had an office in Amersham previously. They look down on you when you have your 1st meeting. We wanted to adopt without having previously tried for children. We were told we would be deemed weird and other social workers would be suspicious of us. We were also told we could only have multiple sibling groups only. I would never go near this adoption agency and we were left in quite an uneasy place after visiting them snd were completely put off adopting. This was in 2017. We then went with bucks county council themselves who were absolutely wonderful and we were glad we were able to take the courage to try again after visiting jigsaw.
