Today was the annual open day, where the gardens are open to the public, and there is a plant sale, and unfortunately for my waste line a cake stall.

I was given a very comprehensive tour of the grounds, ponds, trees and planting area... which was really interesting and my guides showed a real passion for their garden and gardening.

There was a plant stall, with a good selection of plants, it took a great deal of will power not to purchase lots of plants, as they looked as good as garden centre plants at a fraction of the price.

My will power failed me and I ended up at the take stall.. what can I say other than the cake was very tasty.

A very nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon....

Nature could have been more helpful and given us a sunny afternoon, but you cannot have green plants without rain...
