While visiting family, I watched a man urinate on to the fish tank in the lounge, I let someone know & a HCA came over turned the man round before checking if he had his dignity in tack, he then put the resident into a chair & disappeared for 10 minutes & came back with a mop no bucket & proceeded to clean the carpet, moving the urine over clean dry carpet, he then disappeared again with the opportunity to dribble urine across the lounge & dining room (gross) & after a couple of minutes came back with a cleaner, the cleaner then told him he didn’t need a sign for a carpet & both walked away, I asked them if that’s what call clean? I explained that I had watched the HCA dry mop the floor, the cleaner told me it had disinfectant on which it clearly didn’t as only smell urine she then disappeared & came back with a cloth & spray & cleaned it off as best she could without the use of a carpet cleaner, the cleaner then told me it’s all nice & clean & you will only be able to smell disinfectant, it was at that point I pointed to the poor sod still sat in his urine stained joggers, the cleaner then asked for a HCA to change him, the man came back out into the lounge within minutes another clear indication that he wasn’t given a strip wash & clean joggers. But what I find most disgusting is that chair wasn’t even wiped down even after a gentleman was left sitting in wet bottoms..that’s cross contamination. The cleaner then got the hoover out & hoovered in-front of me & my nana talk about rude. All I can say if this is what goes on in front of resident’s families imagine what goes on behind closed doors. I actually left a review on the Charnwood webpage but it was removed. I also left my number & email address, Just incase management would like to speak to me.

Staff dont interact with clients they sit in silence the residents are bored, not the best place to put a loved one if you ask me. I have previously worked in care but this place seems to of gone back in time to at least 30 years ago when care was substandard. If you are looking for your loved one to get rehabilitation this is NOT the place for them. From an open & honest family member .

Played a gig for residents here on Valentine's Day. Staff were short staffed and did nothing but moan about it. Couldn't help but feel if they weren't sat down at the table moaning to each other about how short staffed they were they may have had a nicer day. The only interaction I saw with residents was when they were either being told to sit down or removed from the communal area when staff deemed them a nuisance. Worst of all a member of staff explained to the Senior on duty that he'd never used a rotunda before and would appreciate some assistance. The Senior asked had he had his manual handling training? To which he replied yes and was then told that he should be able to use a rotunda then. He sheepishly went off to assist this unfortunate resident even though he didn't feel comfortable with the equipment. The poor man was trying his best. Shame on the Senior for not helping. Reported this to CQC.
This visit is the reason I don't play care homes anymore. Seeing these things is just too sad.

I've been to charnwood on many occasions, the summer fete was a great success and the residents loved being part of it. The manager Chris was really friendly and I felt very welcome there, the staff look happy in theregards work which is a good thing to see,the activities Co ordinator Debbie was dressed up and singing and stepped in as the entertainment that was booked couldn't make it which I thought was fantastic, the manager even took part in the activities and I'm sure the staff really enjoyed it when he was locked in the stocks but that's what I would I would call a great manager,I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a lovely atmosphere for their loved one and fantastic caring staff, well done charnwood x

I was literally worried sick about Dad going into respite.
The staff were brilliant.
Mum had an essential rest and we are happy that we have somewhere that Dad can go for a break.
Heartfelt thanks to all the staff.

My sister has been continually left when asking to be taken to the toilet ,all she is told is she will have to wait, there was no one to attend to her needs,(once again very destressed )I arrived at 10.55 on 11-7-19 I left at 11.55 after waiting a hour when she was eventually hoisted on to the toilet she had been told by a career to do it in her pants, because no one was available there was a career and a nurse who was attending a lady who had just come out of hospital and was priority which is understandable,my sister shouted asking for help but no one came for a hour which Isaid is absolutely disgusting .
