I don't often do this but was have been looking for finance for my business for a little while now and came up against a brick wall and generally treated as a nuisance!! Then came along Shire Leasing and what a please to deal with I was treated like royalty and make to feel very welcome and extremely helpful not judgmental at all. Wendy Lincoln and Michael Tumilty went out of there way far beyond the call of duty! To top it all I was approved for a substantial loan that is going to mean the world to my business and the development thereof. A huge thanks from the team and tell Shire Leasing if the don't look after you guys I might nick you to work for me you guys were just brilliant!

I am unfortunate enough to be under a leasing contract with this company for a business machine. At the start of the year I got diagnosed with quite an aggressive cancer and had to undergo intense chemotherapy which meant I was unable to work. I continued to try and meet the payments for the first few months not knowing how ill the treatment would make me, however this started to become really tough financially. (I’m a single mum with a one year old, so it got to a point where simply keeping a roof over our heads was priority) Like a previous review had mentioned, at the start of the contract , you are required to fill in multiple forms, all of different formats - digital, paper etc. To a point where you don’t even know what you’re filling in, but are pressured to do so and I unfortunately had filled in a form which meant I was a personal guarantor to my business finances. (This is in tiny small print on one of the multiple digital forms. I
rang and tried to liase with the company multiple times asking for a payment break, temporary reduction, anything they could do, to which I was always fobbed off and told me someone else would be in touch. This went on for MONTHS to a point where I was being kept up at night by the stress of how I was going to meet these payments on top of my essential bills. Due to never getting a response, I cancelled my direct debit as knew this should evoke some urgency. This soon got their money grabbing hands working and WOW was I harassed, multiple phone calls a day, emails, letters threatening to take me to court. Over ONE payment, despite me trying to sort a solution multiple times with no response from them. It was finally agreed that I could pay half of my monthly payment, (payment holidays were no longer a thing apparently, even when you have cancer…) However, this was clearly not relayed throughout the team and I still continued to be harassed multiple times a day.
One of my recent payments didn’t go through due to an error with my bank, they rang and I explained I would sort it as soon as possible, but was currently really not well from the chemo so to give me a couple of days. And once again, I revived MULTIPLE phones calls, messages to call, emails, court threatening letters… This was after ONE day of the initial phone call.
Please avoid this company at all costs if you would like to use a company with morals and any form of empathy. I can honestly say that this company and their constant harassment has made my cancer journey so much worse. Clearly the worry of dying and leaving my young daughter without her mum wasn’t enough, so they thought they’d add to this by threatening to also leave her homeless too… Wouldn’t be surprised if they started to harass my daughter for her inheritance if I was to die!!
I would like to add that I’d never refused to pay or had any intentions of not paying, so the level of threat was completely disproportionate to the situation in hand. I would totally understand the harassment had I simply not been paying, but I would have liked to think that having cancer and a one-time error could have been viewed with a bit of understanding!!!

24/12/24 - Another FOUR letters through the post today despite the money already being paid. I have honestly never known harassment like it!!
