I have always had my dogs from Birmingham Dogs Home and I haven't had a bad one yet.
That's not to say there's no work to do when taking on a Rescue dog but if you put the work in you will get the results.
My latest rescue was traffic averse and dog reactive but such a sweetie with people.
The traffic issue is all but sorted and we are working on the reactive issue.
It's already improving.
BDH do a great job in finding homes for dogs who have had a hard time of it and they provide help if you need it after adoption.
Just try to match your dog selection to your lifestyle and patience level.
Don't select a super high energy dog if you can't spare lots of time for it or it will get frustrated.
Good luck and I hope you can offer one of their dogs a new home.

Recently raised a lot of money at work to donate food, toys, treats, bedding and blankets for the doggies at Wolverhampton.

I also adopted our beautiful fur baby precious on Saturday, what an absolute pleasure she is to own. Would highly recommend Birmingham dogs home, a credit of a place to the doggies there. Friendly polite staff and clean all through.

Thank you for the pleasure of letting me adopt precious 💕

Found our Bruce here. Staff were great. He loves his toys and is brilliant with the grandchildren when they visit. He's an all round , loves everyone boy. Took less than 5 minutes for him to find his chosen place on the settee lol. He's very loved. Tried to post pictures but it won't let me.

What a place! The front desk staff are very helpful and knowledgeable of every dog. You can see their love and enthusiasm. We fell for a dog and decided to adopt. The process is thorough and you're given as much history of the dog as possible.

Clearly each member of staff love the dogs and how they don't take each dog home, I don't know.

If you're thinking of getting a dog, try BDH first. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will keep your details and keep you informed.

Absolutely fantastic facility. We were blessed the day we went in 😊

Adopted my beautiful lurcher in December. Friendly caring very informative staff. I walked around on a Sunday afternoon and fell in love. They couldn't help me more. I took her for a little walk and they helped me take her to her forever home. All the information given was alot but they talked me through the jargon. Minerva came to me happy and healthy. I was advised that she needed dental work and they took care of that no issues. No hidden issues. Open and honest conversations. Highly recommended.

Filthy, the place was covered in poo and the animals just didn’t seem very happy at all. A lot of them were pacing. Some dogs didn’t even have their names or anything displayed. It was also freezing in there. I’ve been here 3 times recently and several times prior to that so I know this wasn’t a one off or a bad day, this is consistent. I have been to the Wolverhampton dogs home and they are so much cleaner and more attentive to their animals.
