We, Time out for Carers, are very closely linked with Gaddum. They are very supportive to our unpaid carers. They invite us to coffee mornings where we do a range of activities such as crafts and relaxation and invite us to focus groups to discuss the way forward in supporting unpaid carers in Salford. They also invite us on walks with the Salford Ramblers to different parks every month and provide us with lunch. We are very fortunate to have Gaddum in Salford to look out for us and all the staff are very friendly and approachable, regards, Jean Elliott

Started off well with Gaddum when I saw them a few years ago, but sadly my second experience has been dreadful. Long wait times which isn’t necessarily their fault, but after signing up and completing the questionnaires and having an initial phone call to discuss your needs, you’re then placed on a waiting list. Two months later I received a call saying I can’t be offered face to face support because of my working hours which I can’t adjust. My only option was telephone support. They removed me from their files immediately when I said that it wasn’t suitable for me. I didn’t get a sense of empathy from the caller and am now back at square one - I was promised an email with alternative options but it’s now been three days and no sign of this email. For people who are already at a low point with their mental health it’s not really how you expect things to be handled.

Amazing organisation that supports many children in the area and beyond!
The staff here are very special - this charity is a link for children that would otherwise feel lost.
Adele and Lauren in particular are angels.

I’ve never encountered such a disorganised shambles in my life. The level of incompetence and unprofessionalism is staggering, and it’s a real sense that you should accept this pitiful low standard because you’re not paying for it. Because you certainly wouldn’t pay for it.

The very nature of what they advertise to do is certainly in my experience something I have not seen. But I have seen is multiple promises not kept, ignorance incompetence at some of my mundane basic skills such as answering telephones, not rocket science. But ultimately a real sense of let’s carry on pretending we offer a good service, when in fact we offer no service.

A disgrace as a charity and organisation.

Started off well then handed over to someone with no idea what they were doing and on occasion found them abrasive and obstructive. Sadly the person I was handed over too provided poor information and was reluctant to assist despite my request of reasonable adjustment. Consequently messing up the final process I would not trust these people nor would I consider them reliable.

Following an amazingly informative training day, organised by Gaddum, I would like to say thank you for the professionalism and hospitality shown to me. I learned a lot about a difficult subject matter; it has helped me understand this area so much more.
