Eager to tell children that Santa doesn't exist, but won't admit that God doesn't either.

Ridiculous double standards over cultural myths and fictional beings and a demonstrably poor grasp of real vs imaginary, skewed to their favour.

Dear Sir.
My name is Stephen Woodman, and I live in Northern Germany. I was born in Gosport in 1949 and was a choir boy at St Johns church Forton Road, and sang in the choir there until I was about 14 years old. Father Munro was the priest then. His Curate/Priest was Father John Adey. I have very fond memories of my time there. I was prompted by Father Adey to improve my voice by singing against the music notes that he played on the organ.
I came to Gosport for a holiday, (April 2023) to visit family members and to see some of the sites that I knew in my youth. It has been quite an eye opener to see how much has changed here.
BUT, one of the most disappointing things that have happened here, was to find that the church of St Johnˋs is closed. I looked on the web site to find the times of the services. The web site said that a Sunday service would begin at 10.00 am.
I arrived at the church shortly before 10, to find that the church was locked up !!!
There is no notice or information on the door of the church, so I checked again if maybe I had misread the times. (No change). The web site still reads open Sunday at 10.00am. All welcome including dogs etc.
I can, sadly, understand that the church has closed down. But for others who might find themselves in the same situation as me. PLEASE CLOSE THE WEB SITE, or at least amend it !!!!!!
Perhaps a notice on the main entrance door would also help !
Sincerely,
Stephen Woodman.

I no longer find the diocese as supportive as it once was. Also it has become very money orientated with little regard to the parishes.
Bearing in mind we are all volunteers. We're being expected to give up more and more of our time just to stand still.
