Visited on our holiday on our day out to Ilfracombe and the volunteers there were lovely. We arrived before they were "open" that morning without knowing and they let us in for a little private tour if you will. They were really happy to answer any questions we had and it was so interesting to see all the boats and learn about everything. We left a donation in the pot as recommended, we love to visit the lifeboat stations whenever nearby after our first visit to Lyme Regis and Bembridge

Parked in car park nearby to have a look at the shops and walked past the station defiantly worth a visit if in Ilfracombe. Very interesting and impressive boats, friendly volunteers happy to answer questions that we had. Also had books to choose from for a small recommended donation fee.

We came across the station open so you could have a look round and ask any questions you wanted to the crew, it was actually really interesting to learn about how they get the boat to the water when the tide is out. The boat was so much bigger than I previously thought, the viewing platform gave such a good perspective.

We visit every Royal National Lifeboat institution, when we are out on our trips to the seaside towns where they are based..In this one you will see the state of art equipment that they have based here...The lifeboat is one amazing bit of kit, from full speed it can stop in just the length of the boat it self, it can also almost turn on a sixpence as it is said, there is no propeller as it is driven be water jets, very impressive...The other fantastic bit of equipment is the huge tractor that launches the boat into the sea, well worth looking around to see this...All the volunteers are extremely helpful as they show you around...We always buy a little something and put a bit of money in the charity box to support these brave men and women who risk their lives to save others....🙏 ❤️ 👍

Took a look around here when the doors were open for visitors. Good for a look around at the quality kit they have, gives great reassurance as everything was very well maintained and ready for action.
