Came for an "Evening with...." event.
Nice old place with historical interest. The function room itself was a good size with plenty of tables.
Nice to see a decent alcohol free beer option and prices were decent.
Not sure if the food was arranged by the Lyceum or the event organisers but the chicken curry was fine, vegetarians, however, were stuck with a plate of rice.
There was quite a bit of noise coming through from the bar area which made it a little difficult hearing when sat at the back

The staff were friendly, and the price were also very reasonable ....
BUT attended a function in the large hall part of the venue and it was so cold even I felt it!!
And to be honest that spoilt the night.
Can't comment on the ladies, but the gents toilets that although clean had certainly seen better days and could do with an upgrade

Great family place. Great for sports on the TV and to play. Snooker, Pool, darts and dominoes behind the bar

I have just been here to watch a charity burlesque night. It was one of the best nights I have had for a l9ng time. It's a great venue for any occasion. The drinks are cheap the bar staff are friendly and it's in the middle of the beautiful Port Sunlight Village.

Just don't pick songs from the jukebox the staff dislike. Went in with family tonight for a few drinks and a get together, much as I have liked and recommended the place over the years apparently they have a policy that if a visitor (been there numerous times over the last 20 years) picks something from the jukebox the bar staff deem the other members may not like they skip it! Asked what happened to my choices the barman explained the previous barman had cancelled them and they may be on again soon, well that was a lie, they never came back on. If you don't want members to pick unacceptable tunes then remove them from the playlist.

Went to a wedding reception, really enjoyed it, place is clean, could do with more bar staff on in big room,I nipped into the bar area,got served quicker 😜👍
